Music NFT Community Projects with Good Intent
Music NFT Projects, Platforms, DAOs and Funds actively contributing in the Music NFT Community
The last few weeks I have delved into the world of Music NFTs and it’s been a wild ride.
I have spent hundreds of hours connecting with those setting the standards and striving for a web3 they envision can be a reality. Some of these projects embody the ethos of decentralization and democratization of wealth in the music industry.
Many don’t.
I have observed opportunists, parasites and scams. Purposely, I have left out certain marketplaces, platforms and projects. Of course, do your own research.
The following Music NFT Projects are actively and genuinely contributing in the Music NFT Community:

I would like to highlight Arpeggi Labs, Catalog Works, and Mint Songs in more detail in this article.
Arpeggi Labs, @arpeggi_labs
Arpeggi Labs is the first on-chain music creation platform that allows creators to easily compose and mint songs directly to the chain.
Founded by: @ksd_eth, @evan_dhillon, & @utility_maxi
Arpeggi Labs was built around art creation, not art generation and its NFT Creative Community model empower holders to become creators, and creators to become holders.

Catalog
Catalog is a web3 music platform for artists to press and sell original, one-of-one digital records.
Founded by: @jzstern & @mmckain_
NFTs on Catalog are on the Ethereum blockchain that use the ERC-721 non-fungible token standard and can be traded in open markets. The audio, cover art and metadata is stored on IPFS.
Catalog enables artists to capture the value of their music and serves as a tool to permanently archive music.

Mint Songs, @mintsongs
Mint Songs’ NFT tools enable music artists to turn songs into eco-friendly NFTs for free ($O minting fees).
Founded by: @dorculas & @_garretthughes
NFTs on Mint Songs are music-based digital assets on the Polygon blockchain that use the ERC-721 non-fungible token standard. At the infrastructure level, a single Mint Songs NFT consists of an album artwork and the audio file. Both the album artwork and the audio file are stored on IPFS.
Creators can connect, build and grow their web3 communities and sell in the Mint Songs Marketplace.
Mint Songs’ core mission is to help creators earn sustainable and livable incomes from creating music without middlemen.
Join them on their Discord.
Edit: On 09/14/2022 Mint Songs locked both their collections on Mint Songs Factory (Polygon) and Mint Songs V2 (Ethereum). My speculation is that they did not have enough funding to sustain the project. Mint Songs onboarded almost 2,000 artists who minted 100,000 music NFTs. See more here.
